Four enthusiastic Skills For Work school pupils will be offering Forth Valley College staff and students the chance to buy ‘stocking filler’ gifts, badges, tree decorations and wall art on Thursday 16 December – all made by themselves in aid of charity.
The local branch of the Samaritans will be the beneficiaries of the sales from the pop-up stall in the main foyer of the Falkirk Campus from 2.30pm-4pm.
The students involved are: Chloe Griffiths from Alva Academy, Kelsi McGonigal, Ryan McGregor and Kerr Neil all from Larbert High School.
Creative Industries Lecturer Angela McLaren, said: “The class have been experimenting with a range of art and design materials. For the pop up stall they learned how to mix and use fine casting plaster and various moulds to create the products they have for sale. During the sale they are happy to answer any questions you have about the process involved in the making of the work.”
Fellow CI Lecturer Lesley McDermott, added: “Learners worked as part of a team throughout the planning and implementation of the creative project
Both their creative and organisational skills have been outstanding, this will certainly not be the last you’ll hear from this enterprising team, watch this space!
