Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus welcomed a delegation from PetroChina yesterday (Tuesday 19 January 2016).
The College provided an overview of the wide range of training solutions they deliver to the oil and gas industry and took the delegation on a tour of their state-of-the-art training facilities.
The group also had the opportunity to see training in action by undertaking a series of practical exercises in the College’s Virtual Control Room, Distillation Columns and running Industrial Plant Rig.
The delegation included technicians, senior technicians, senior engineers and senior economists from PetroChina.
The group are currently on a two week visit to Scotland from 12 – 27 January. As part of the trip, they also visited the Grangemouth Refinery.
Dr Ken Thomson, Principal for Forth Valley College said:
“We were delighted to welcome the delegation from PetroChina and showcase all we have to offer. We were able to demonstrate the world class training and facilities available at Forth Valley College and in Scotland.
“We hope this will be the first of many visits and that we can develop a close working relationship with PetroChina similar to the excellent partnership we already have with the Grangemouth Refinery.”
