Sound Production Lecturer Peter Flett is making a big noise raising cash for charity these days with his cycling exploits.
On Sunday 5 September he completed the first of two cycle events fundraising for Social Bite’s ‘Break the Cycle’ which is designed to raise enough money to create homeless villages in Glasgow and London, similar to the one already built in Edinburgh.
He has already raised £240 towards his target of £500 and is hoping his colleagues at FVC might help push him closer to his goal.
Peter said: “I finished in three hours and 20 minutes – and I think I finished in third place.
“This was the first of two bike rides in September to raise money for Social Bite’s effort to tackle homelessness. The Glasgow to Edinburgh ride with Sir Chris Hoy was great and I was delighted to get a photo with the man himself at the finish, which was a bonus.
“The next event in the Lakes is 114 mile long is on Sunday 19 September and includes some of the UK’s toughest road climbs called the Fred Whitton Challenge, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
