Paul scoops SkillBuild award

First year Modern Apprentice Joiner Paul Lewis hammered out his intent by scooping a prize at a recent SkillBuild event.

Held at the City of Glasgow College on Tuesday 22 May, Paul – who works for Buildvale and is a first year Carpentry & Joinery CITB MA at the Forth Valley College Stirling Campus - nailed a one day practical test against competitors from eight other colleges to win the New Entrant category.

Much like the Olympics, as each level of competition progresses, competitors will be tested not only on their technical abilities, but on their time management, character and commitment, and the competitions can help them build their own confidence, self-esteem and life skills.
