Forth Valley College’s annual End of Year show is usually one the highlights of the Creative Industries Department’s year, but due to current Covid restrictions, it is not possible for the Stirling Campus to host the event.
However, innovative students and staff have come up with a free online Degree and Diploma exhibition for art and design students to showcase their work, starting on Friday 11 June.
The event will show off the work of a wide range of disciplines including painting, textiles design, printmaking, sculpture, installation, moving image, graphics and photography created by learners from the BA Art and Design, HND Contemporary Art Practice, HND Graphic Design, HND Photography and HND Art and Design.
Forth Valley principal Dr Ken Thomson, said: “The annual Degree and Diploma show is a real favourite in our Creative Industries Department’s calendar and it is a real shame it could not take place this year, like so many things. However, it is testament to the resourcefulness of our staff and students that they have managed to organise an online version of the show this year.
“I am very proud of them all and delighted that I will be able to view the high standard of work that will undoubtedly be on display online. It will also be an opportunity to showcase the tremendous work of our staff and students to the public, and I can’t wait to hear the feedback. Well done to everyone involved.”
The show opens to the public online on Friday 11 June. To view the online exhibition please visit the link: https://fvcshowcase.co.uk/coming-soon
