Workstart students set out on the road to possible employment recently, through a path-building project at Muiravonside Country Park in Falkirk.
The enthusiastic seven strong team – who split into two groups called the Path Ninjas and the Pathketeers– have been busy designing, planning, measuring, collecting the materials and constructing the paths that will help upgrade some of the excellent walkways in the park.
All students attended a special graduation ceremony event at Muiravonside Park on Friday 9 March, where they each received certificates for their efforts.
Marguerite McCreath, a lecturer in FVC’s Department of Access and Progression, said: “I am delighted with the students involved in this project and really happy with the progress they have made throughout. Their confidence has improved and they have learned so much along the way. Their efforts will benefit all the users of the park and they should be very proud of themselves.”
