Adventurous Admin Assistant Pamela Newlands is on the hunt for Forth Valley College staff to join her in taking on a ‘Rough Runner’ obstacle course in August.
Pamela Newlands who works in Business Development is in training for the event which takes place at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh on the 6 and 7 August.
She has already recruited FVC’s Veterans Champion and Senior First Aid Trainer Richy Todd into taking part and is keen for more colleagues from across the college to join them.
They are both looking to run the 10K event – which costs £57 to enter – but there are also 5K and 15K distances up for grabs.
Pamela said:
“I have always wanted to run a race which had obstacles in it, ever since I saw ‘Total Wipeout’ on the TV! I am looking for anyone at the College who might be interested in getting involved to contact me. As well as being great fun and exciting to do, the training for the race with the help of Wai in the gym, will really tie in well with the FVC health and well-being ethos.”

“Pamela came up with this idea and as I’m struggling for motivation to get back into fitness, I thought that this would be an ideal opportunity to get fit in a more relaxed, fun situation.”
Pamela can be contacted on extension 3265 or by e-mail on Pamela.newlands@forthvalley.ac.uk . For more information on the event visit http://roughrunner.com/events/scotland-aug-2016/
