NICEIC Inspector impressed with FVC CompEx course

National Inspection Council - Electrical Industry Contractors (NICEIC) Area Engineer, Philip Martin, has been impressed with Forth Valley College’s CompEx Training Centre and its lecturing staff.

Philip, who covers the West of Scotland assessing the competency of registered electrical contractors, completed the five-day CompEx (01-04) Hazardous Area Inspection and Installation course on Friday 23 August 2019.

He said: “I have found the course to be excellent. It was presented and explained very well and clearly took into consideration the experience levels present in the class. The lecturing and the facilities have been first class.

“I was looking for a CompEx course that was delivered as central as possible and this fits the bill. I was also swayed by a colleague of mine who was very disappointed by a similar course held at another training centre, so I wanted to stay away from there.

“I would have no hesitation in recommending this course and Forth Valley College for CompEx training. The way it is delivered, the way they take you through it step by step and the way it is split up was just right.

“I will be actively saying to my colleagues and anyone in the industry who may require CompEx training that I know to come here.”

Commercial Trainer Alan Montgomery, said: “The CompEx (01-04) 5 day Hazardous Areas Inspection and Installation course is a very challenging one for anyone working in this industry, so it’s really important when an inspector, who is responsible for measuring competency and compliance of technicians and contracting companies operating in these environments, that he fully understands what is expected in line with legislative Standards and Directives.

“Successful completion of this course will not only fulfill a personal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement for Philip, but as an organisation NICEIC can have real confidence that he has increased his knowledge and understanding in this area. It was our privilege to welcome Philip, he was an enthusiastic learner throughout the whole week and are grateful he chose our training centre.”
