Eleven new Modern Apprentices joined 29 already enrolled on INEOS’ award winning and highly sought after vocational training programme at Grangemouth, today (03/09/20).
Ten of the eleven Modern Apprentices attended schools in the Falkirk Council area and securing their new roles marks the culmination of a great deal of hard work and determination to make it onto the programme. The group will attend Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus for training as part of their MA.
Since the application process opened in December 2019, this new group of Modern Apprentices have navigated their way through applications, interviews and socially distanced assessment centres to finally arrive at this day.
Having initially received in excess of 400 applications to join the highly sought after vocational training programme, the INEOS Recruitment Team at Grangemouth have employed a series of well-established and rigorous processes to narrow down and select the next group of people to join the four year long programme.
Duncan McIntosh, Learning and Development Manager, INEOS Grangemouth said, “The calibre of candidates has been exceptionally high again this year. The reputation of INEOS’ Modern Apprenticeship Scheme remains strong particularly with local candidates who recognise the significant opportunities employment with a company like ours can bring.
“Ahead is a first class training programme with Forth Valley College that will prepare our Modern Apprentices for a career in our industry. We wish them all the very best on their first day and we look forward to working with them over the next four years, supporting each as they grow and develop.”
Caroline Hogg, Client Manager Business Development in FVC’s Department of Business Development, said: “This year’s INEOS MA intake is once again of a very high standard and we look forward to working with them as they work towards completion of their apprenticeship. It’s a pleasure to work with INEOS and the calibre of their MAs currently studying at Forth Valley College are a credit to their organisation.”
The four year training programme mixes high quality academic learning provided via Forth Valley College at their newly opened Falkirk Campus, alongside unrivalled practical hands on experiences at the INEOS manufacturing and processing facilities at Grangemouth and Kinneil.
Local schools have once again proven a great source of talent for INEOS to draw from with ten of the eleven candidates attending schools in the Falkirk Council area.
St Mungo’s High (4); Larbert High (4); Bo’ness Academy; Grangemouth High and Gryffe High (Renfrewshire). Four of the Apprentices are sponsored by the INEOS FPS business and seven by the INEOS Chemicals business.
There are currently 29 INEOS modern apprentices enrolled at various stages of the four-year course at Forth Valley College.
