Nail Enhancement and Design Technique students welcomed members of the public to the FVC’s Alloa Campus Salon recently (Tuesday 4 December) to glam up their fingernails, offer valuable advice, tips on nail health and care – and raise money for a worthy cause!
The event related to the course that the students are taking, and covered the section titled ‘Implementing your own event’ and they raised a total of £280 for the Anthony Nolan Aid Trust.
The students carried out gel polish/nail art on the day and there also was snacks and drinks served for free. Students had been preparing for the event for weeks and had to advertise to the public and the students were all excited to be taking part.
The students were being assessed on their ability to communicate with the clients and put them at their ease, as well as with their technical nail skills.
The Anthony Aid Trust charity was chosen by the students for personal reasons and FVC staff and friends and family of the students involved flocked to support the event.
Beauty Therapy lecturer Kathryn Baird said: “Everyone was involved. It was a good turnout and will benefit the students.”
