Electrical Engineering students at Forth Valley College were buzzing recently by a visit from representatives from German electrical manufacturing company Hensel.
The firm, which specialises in the manufacture of innovative electrical installation and power distribution system equipment, presented a programme consisting of a talk by Bernd Hiltenkamp, Technical Manager International, on the legislation governing the manufacturing and testing of Hensel systems. This was followed by a question and answer session, which allowed the students to question the Hensel experts.
Bernd then gave the apprentices a demonstration on how to assemble a Hensel distribution system. The event was also attended by Ralph Dahll, Hensel European Sales Manager, Keith Shepherd, National Business Development Manager and Andy McMenigall from CEE NORM, who are distributers for Hensel, also attended.
Dave Hughes, A FVC lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Instrumentation and Chemical Engineering (EICE), said: “The day was a great success and the students have benefitted from the experience working with the latest technology during the visit.”
Ralph Dahll, was impressed by the projects that the EICE Department are currently working on and is now keen to establish a working relationship with the department going forward. This would include help with the design of equipment required for these projects.
