He aims to release this episode of his fascinating podcast to coincide with the start of the autumn course which begins on Tuesday 10 September, and can be found by visiting https://www.extremispublishing.com/ .

There are still a few spaces left on the now established night class, but word is spreading fast about the six week course held on a Tuesday night from 6-8pm between 10 September and 22 October 2024.  It is understood that Tom’s vast writing and publishing experience, engaging manner and knowledge of the industry, is helping budding authors of all ages, styles and levels to flourish and enhance their skills.

Karyn King, said: “It was a pleasure to accept the invitation from Dr Christie to appear on his podcast and to chat about what Forth Valley College is all about and what it provides for our local communities and beyond. As well as having some of Scotland’s best full-time lecturers working at the College, we also have an excellent range of industry experts who provide an enviable selection of evening classes and we are delighted that Dr Christie is one of those. Why not check out our evening class provision on our website to find out more, and also look out for the Extremis Publishing podcasts on their website.”

Dr Christie, said: "One of the things I most enjoy about running the Writing for Publication course at Forth Valley College's Stirling Campus is the fact that I meet students of all different ages and backgrounds - and each and every one of them has their own individual range of skills and abilities. It's so important to have an institution like Forth Valley College which can support learning in such a wide variety of subject areas, across so many different disciplines. It's always a pleasure to work there, and recording an overview of what the College provides from Karyn King will be an excellent episode of our podcast series."

Julie Christie, a fellow Director of Extremis Publishing, said: "Lifelong learning is important for all of us, and we are very fortunate to live in an area with one of the country's largest providers of further education - the fantastic Forth Valley College. With creative industries becoming an even more popular topic in Stirling with the announcement of a new film and TV studio being established in the city, there has never been a more exciting time to get involved in the arts and humanities - no matter what your age is."

Recent feedback on the Writing for Publication course has included:

John MacDonald, said: "Dr Christie's knowledge of the publishing world is encyclopaedic. From copyright to contract, agents to self-publishing, pitfalls and protection, his course covered everything. I found Dr Christie to be engaging, responsive and very helpful, both during and after the course."

Iain McRobbie, said: "This course was a real eye opener for me, I certainly learned a great deal, and have probably saved myself a lot of work in the future in dealings with potential publishers, I also think that based on what I learned on the course the changes I've made to my book have improved it, so money well spent.”
