HND Hospitality student John Thomson, aims to raise the bar higher after securing a much sought after scholarship.
John (27) from Larbert, who is on the first year of his course, applied to the Hospitality Industry Scotland (HIT) and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Tennent’s Teaching Academy in Glasgow for an exclusive Bar Management course.
He said: “This course will teach me all the legal stuff I will need to know and much more to help me progress in my career. I am really, really excited as I have been working in the hospitality industry for the last four or five years and have a great passion for it and hope to open my own restaurant or bar one day. I am looking forward to it.
“I am absolutely loving the course here at Forth Valley College’s Stirling Campus and have already learned so much especially with my people skills. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in Hospitality in finding out what is on offer here at the college.”
Karyn King, Operations Manager in the Department of Creative Industries, Hospitality and Tourism, said: “John has done very well in his course and we are sure this HIT Scotland scholarship will be a great opportunity for him to push on to even greater success.”
