Forth Valley College students helped nursery and primary school kids to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Raploch Community Campus building recently.
A team of students from the college’s Raploch Hair and Beauty Salon nipped in next door to the community primary school facilities – housing Raploch and Our Lady’s Primary Schools, The Castleview School and Raploch Nursery – to provide the youngsters with some hair and nails pampering, as part of an anniversary celebration event on Friday 9 February.
Anthea Galloway and Louise Pyefinch (both Hairdressing Level 2 students) and Bobbyjo MacAulay and Megan Neilson (both Beauty Therapy Level 2 students) offered their services to the youngsters, who were also taking part in a host of other events and activities during the day. These included: bulb planting in the garden, a live broadcast from Stirling City Radio, a dance session by the Macrobert Arts Centre and a campus party lunch.
Lisa Evitt, Operations Manager in FVC’s Department of Hospitality and Salon Services, said: “It was a pleasure to get involved in the anniversary celebrations. The students thoroughly enjoyed giving some tips and advice to the youngsters and even styling their hair and nails. We hope they all enjoyed the day.”
Laura Welsh, Senior Early Years Childhood Educator at Raploch Nursery, said: “Raploch Nursery would like to thank the team from hair and beauty. The Forth Valley College students were fantastic with the children, and the boys and girls came back to nursery excited to show off their beautifully detailed nails and styled hair. It has been very special having the community come together to mark this milestone day.”
