Get the most out of your evenings at FVC
Evening Courses

Applications are being sought for an exciting new programme of evening courses being launched at Forth Valley College – which will help people do more with their evenings.

Starting in September 2019, a wide variety of evening classes will be offered at the Alloa, Falkirk and Stirling Campuses with something for everyone.

Those interested in higher level study will be attracted to the range of Higher National Certificates (HNCs) available in areas such as … Administration and Information Technology, Accounting, Business, Childhood Practice, Construction Management and Electrical Engineering, Management and Leadership and Mechanical Engineering.

Other certificated courses available include City and Guilds qualifications in Electrical Installation and a wide variety of Hair and Beauty related subjects and there are also Professional Development Awards available.   The programme also includes Highers in English, Human Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Chemistry and National 5 Level Maths.

The vast range of leisure classes available are also expected to generate a lot of interest.  Courses such as Basic Plumbing Skills, Woodworking Skills, Painting and Decorating, Personal Training, First Aid, Italian for Holidays, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), REHIS, Getting Started in Makaton, Artisan Bakery, and Christmas Crafts have the potential to develop useful skills which will enhance everyday life.

There are also Kids’ Cookery and STEM Evening classes for kids to do, while parents are in class!

Also available are a range of classes for those seeking a hobby including: Digging Stirling: An Introduction to Archaeology, Tracing Your Family Roots: An Introduction, Counselling: An Introduction, Home Sewn, Life Drawing, Illustration, Script Writing, Creative Writing, Photography, Floristry, Drawing and Painting, Screen Printing, Stained Glass, Sound Design, Applied Forensic Science, Introduction to Welding, DIY Home Decoration, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Can’t Cook Must Eat, various Beauty Treatment classes, plus many more.

Forth Valley College Principal, Dr Ken Thomson, said: “Our new evening class programme delivers something for everyone with an excellent balance of both academic and leisure based courses. The programme will appeal to a range of learners regardless of their age, circumstances or reasons for applying.

If you are interested in Highers courses, there will be an Open Evening at FVC’s Falkirk Campus on Thursday 15 August from 5pm - 9pm.
