Third year INEOS Modern Apprentice (MA) Sean Griffin, was presented with the ‘George Hall Achievement Award’, recently (17/05/18) continuing the high standards of previous holders of the award, who have also studied for their MA at Forth Valley College.
In memory of George, who worked at the INEOS Grangemouth site for almost 40 years until his untimely death in service in 2015, his family have donated an award in his name to be presented on an annual basis to a third year Modern Apprentice.
John McNally, CEO INEOS O&P UK, said: “It is fitting, that in memory of a valued employee George Hall, we are presenting this award today to Sean. George was a terrific supporter of the Company and, as an Apprentice Mentor, of our work in developing young engineers and technicians.”
The Award was presented in the INEOS HQ building on Inchyra Road, in the presence of George’s widow, Jane and son, Chris.
Jane Hall, said: “George would have been so delighted that Sean has been chosen to receive this annual award in his name. In the short time that Sean has been working with INEOS he has already demonstrated similar values to those that George was renowned for – hard work, dedication and commitment to doing his very best.”
Sean, third year mechanical apprentice, said: “I am very proud to have been selected to receive this award. I would like to thank all those people at Forth Valley College and at INEOS for their support and encouragement as I work towards achieving my modern apprentice qualifications.”
Previous holders of the award are Ellen Milne (2016) and Megan McWatt (2017).
