Dr Thomson received the Provost’s Civic Award in the Academic category at a formal awards ceremony held at Stirling Castle on Friday 21 October.
Commenting on the award, Dr Thomson, said: “I feel honoured and delighted to have been presented with this award and see it as an endorsement of what everyone at Forth Valley College has been doing over the last three years to help Make Learning Work in the Stirling area.”
The awards – established in 1998 and held every two years - were hosted by Provost Mike Robbins in Stirling Castle’s Great Hall, and were presented to individuals or organisations who have made significant contributions to local communities, or who have achieved national recognition in their field over the last 24 months.
