Flexible learning courses are driving education forward at St Ninian’s Library in Stirling.
Forth Valley College’s are offering local people the chance to learn basic IT skills, update existing ones and work towards a recognised qualification with courses including Introduction to Computers, Getting Started with Microsoft office and the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
Barbara Fulford, who has studied for her ECDL course at the library, said:
“I did the ECDL course many years ago, to support my role in St.Ninians Library. I thought that I would like to challenge myself this year by doing the advanced word processing module of the ECDL. I am finding it hard but rewarding and it is great to get the support from Forth Valley College when I require it.”
Lisa MacLaren FVC’s Flexible Learning Coordinator, said:
“We are excited to be offering Flexible Learning sessions in St Ninians Library, these sessions are currently very popular in Bannockburn and Dunblane Libraries and will be beneficial to anyone wishing to brush up on their IT skills – especially with a view to seeking employment at some point in the future.
“Courses available will include the European Computer Driver Licence, which offers an IT qualification recognised throughout Europe. Come and study in a welcoming atmosphere, where a tutor will be available to support you.”
