Forth Valley College and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) were highly commended at the Scottish Qualifications Authority’s (SQA) Star Awards on Friday 11 November.
Nominated in the Star Award category for Partnership of the Year, FVC and HES were just pipped to the top spot - at the ceremony held in Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms - by the Glasgow Caledonian University Advanced Higher Hub, Glasgow City.
Historic Environment Scotland have based their state-of-the art stonemasonry workshops at FVC’s Stirling Campus - a city of historic importance - where they train the next generation of craftspersons in an innovative partnership which has strengthened each year since the campus opened in 2012.
Ian Morrison, Head of FVC’s Department of Construction, was at the awards ceremony, he said: “Just to be nominated for a Star Award and receiving a Highly Commended certificate is great recognition of the excellent partnership we have with Historic Environment Scotland. We look forward to this partnership growing from strength to strength in the future.”
