Forth Valley College and FES FM have won a prestigious Scottish Training Federation (STF) award for Success In Partnership.
The College was also shortlisted for the Innovation in Training and Apprentice of the Year categories, at the STF Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony at Crieff Hydro on Tuesday 27 September, which forms part of the STF Conference.
The partnership between the College and FES FM created a new fully equipped Facilities Management National Training Centre to train 12 MAs – at least six of which will be from the Forth Valley area - to SVQ level 3 standard.
FES FM, part of the FES group of companies are recognised as one of the leading, rapidly growing independent service groups in the British Isles with sustainable Facilities Management contracts in place for up to 25-30 years. To ensure workforce sustainability and in line with their Skills and Employment Strategy, the Facilities Management Division has committed to recruiting 12 Building Services MAs from across the UK each year over the period 2013-2017 and have teamed up with Forth Valley College to help train their new MAs.
Forth Valley College, one of Scotland’s leading providers of Modern Apprenticeship and vocational training, deliver the SVQ programme and the new practical facility (fully funded and fitted out by FES FM) will also create opportunities and pathways for 16-24 year olds within the Alloa catchment area.
