A group of Forth Valley College HND Event Management students savoured the atmosphere of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival during the first week of their course.
The first year group had barely matriculated at the College when they were whisked away by lecturer Christopher Foote to the world famous festival, as the opportunity to give them the experience of the Fringe Central Programme, was too good to miss before the event finishes at the end of August.
Thanks to an ongoing partnership with The Edinburgh Fringe Society, enjoyed an industry panel discussion hosted by Olivier and Tony award-winning producer, Richard Jordan. Students also had the opportunity to visit some of Edinburgh’s main fringe venues and take in the atmosphere of the world’s biggest art festival.
Kirsty Fraser, Artist Development Manager at the Edinburgh Fringe Society (pictured bottom right), who facilitated the visit, said “It was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet with students today. Hopefully the visit has given the group an insight into what it’s like working within the festival sector.”
Christopher Foote, FVC Event Management Lecturer, said: “The group really enjoyed themselves and felt that this was a really worthwhile experience, which has provided further motivation to pursue their studies in the unique and dynamic events industry.
