Food hygiene took on an international flavour recently as expert Forth Valley College teaching staff delivered a course to 20 people living in the Stirling area covering seven different languages.
Hospitality Lecturer Paul Cunningham was delighted to deliver the REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene course over two days from 21-22 February to students already enrolled at the Stirling School of English in the centre of the city.
The 20 candidates included a wide range of learners from countries such as Sudan, Syria, Nepal, Poland, Chile, Japan and Thailand, and the course required booklets in several languages including: Arabic (8), Polish (3), Portuguese (3), Spanish, Russian, Thai and English.
Paul said: “We were delighted to help out the Stirling School of English and it was a pleasure to deliver the course to people from all across the world. The students are all enrolled onto an English course with the school, however they approached us to deliver Elementary Food Hygiene – which is required for the preparation and service within food outlets
“The course was delivered over two days and most learners achieved the required pass rate for the REHIS qualification. We would be delighted to help out the School for any of their future learning needs.”
