Computer students based at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus pitched perfect for the Falkirk Probus Club recently to design the organisation’s new website.
Representatives from three design teams attended an award ceremony in the FVC Boardroom on Friday 8 Jun, following completion of their Website Design Project, which they have been working on since 3 January.
The students – from the NC Computing with Cyber Security - have been working with club officials to prepare proposals which meet the club’s requirements, allowing them to experience a ‘real life’ client scenario.
The presentation of awards, partially sponsored by the Orchard Hotel, was made by Chairman David Waddell to the winning team of Dylan Bonner, Scott Brown, Weiyi Guo and Angus Graham in the presence of Dr Ken Thomson, College Principal. Scott Brown collected the awards on behalf of the team.
The new website is expected to be launched in the autumn providing the local community with information on the Club, membership of which is open to men and women who have retired from a professional or business background.
Dr Ken Thomson, said: “It is great to see our students work on live briefs such as this as it inspires great creativity and show them what it will be like when they move into their respective industries. It is another great example of how we are making learning work here at Forth Valley College and we can’t thank the Falkirk Probus Club enough for their belief in the high standards our student can produce.”
