Falkirk Campus shortlisted for another prize
FVC Falkirk Campus

Forth Valley College’s £78 million Falkirk Campus has been shortlisted for another prestigious architectural award.

Architects Reiach and Hall who designed all of FVC’s three new campuses submitted an entry to the 2022 RIAS (Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) Awards and it has been placed on a shortlist of 14 to be considered and further judged.

The RIAS /RIBA Awards demonstrate the quality and breadth of current architectural endeavour in Scotland and the next stage will see an expert panel of judges visiting the campus in late March for a tour of the building and facilities and to ask questions about the design, layout and construction.

Dr Ken Thomson OBE, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “We are delighted that our new Falkirk Campus has been shortlisted for yet another prestigious award, it really does show the skill and excellence and thought that has gone into the design of our fabulous new HQ.

“Our vision for Forth Valley College involved many staff, students and our stakeholders and we must thank architects Reiach and Hall and Balfour Beatty for designing and constructing our new building and helping us to realise that vision. I personally would like to thank everyone who has worked on the project for guiding it to completion.”

Reiach and Hall, who also designed FVC’s award winning Alloa (opened 2011) and Stirling (2012) Campuses, recently won the Higher Education prize at the 2021 AJ Architecture Awards for their Falkirk Campus design.

That prize came just five months after the Falkirk Campus came top in the Scottish Design Awards category of Architecture: Education Building or Project.
