A trio of Preparation for Employment Construction students rose to the challenge of volunteering recently.
Tjay Hunter (19) from Maddiston, Craig Morton (17) from Whitecross and Jack Reid, (17) from Shieldhill were the eager teenagers keen to donate their time to a good cause.
As part of their Community Engagement day event which is embedded into their studies the group chose a day during the October Week holidays to work alongside Falkirk Council’s Development Services Department to clean flower beds and harvest seeds, while contributing to the Zetland Regeneration Project in Grangemouth.
Charlene Bissett, Work Experience Co-ordinator at Forth Valley College, said: “The students spent a half day clearing the rose bush beds and preserving rose corns to be planted again next year. They finished up by raking the bedding over to prepare for new planters. They were a credit to themselves and the college and I am very proud of their efforts.”
