HNC Cyber Security students at Forth Valley College Falkirk Campus, have become the first in Scotland to tap into a new form of digital learning provided by a local firm.
The eager whizzkids were delighted to test out the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) approved Data Flow unit created by Carron Iron Works based Obashi, on Friday January 24.
Connor Cloughley, Business Development Manager, of Obashi, said: “Obashi is proud to be working with Forth Valley College and it's great to see the new SQA Data Flow Unit being taught at the brand new Falkirk Campus. Falkirk is primed to become a centre of excellence in digital learning and Obashi is delighted to be part of that development, supporting students in their understanding of Data Flow.”
Computing Lecturer Alan Paton, said: “We took delivery of the new Data Flow unit as part of the HNC Cyber Security on Friday 24 January and we can’t thank Obashi enough for helping to get us to this point. This qualification has been developed in conjunction with Obashi, a local company based at Carron Iron Works, and this will be the first time the unit has been delivered in Scotland. We are very excited to see how it develops.”
Vivien Gallacher, Curriculum Manager in FVC’s Department of Creative Industries, Hospitality and Tourism, said: “Our Computing department has always been to the fore of new developments and cutting edge learning, and this link up with Obashi reinforces the innovative nature and expertise that is available for students here at Forth Valley College.”
