Forth Valley College welcomed the Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) cohort for session 2022/23 to Falkirk campus on Wednesday 14 September.
This year, Forth Valley College academic staff from various departments have been partnered with colleagues from Fife College, and will work together to learn, share and reflect upon their teaching practice as part of the postgraduate-level course at Aberdeen University.
Principal Ken Thomson OBE welcomed academic staff participants from FVC and Fife College - and their University tutor - to the first in-person workshop to take place in over two years, at the Falkirk Campus.
Learning and Digital Skills Academy mentors will support participants throughout their year of study to critically reflect upon their practice, and examine external factors affecting Further Educations. Upon completion of TQFE, participants will be eligible for General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) registration.
Jennifer Nisbet, Learning and Digital Skills Academy Project Lead, said, “It is a great privilege for us to host candidates as they begin their TQFE programme. Working in partnership with another FE college provides a great opportunity to share ideas and learn from each other. The LDSA wishes all of the candidates every success with their studies.”
