Engineering apprentices at Forth Valley College will see their skill levels soar after Edinburgh International Airport donated fantastic new equipment to enhance training at the new Falkirk Campus.
The airport – which sends several of its mechanical and electrical Modern Apprentices to FVC’s Falkirk Campus for training – kindly donated an impressive power drill and other kit such as testing meters and oscilloscopes – a great boost just in time for Scottish Apprenticeship Week (2-6 March 2020).
MA Electrical Technician Harry Chalmers and his boss Brian Anderson Senior Engineering Manager at Edinburgh International Airport were delighted to help deliver the new kit to the college’s Engineering Department recently.
Lorraine Kerr, FVC Business Development Partner, said: “What an excellent donation of equipment this is from Edinburgh international Airport. It will certainly be put to good use in the new engineering superworkshop and will benefit their own MAs and countless other trainee engineers. We can’t thank them enough and it is a great example of how businesses can support the work of the College.”
Harry Chalmers (20) from Larbert, said: “This donation of equipment is a great gesture from my employers and I can’t wait to start using it. The new kit will fit in well in these great new facilities where I am enjoying studying for my modern apprenticeship. I would recommend it to anyone.”
Brian Anderson, Senior Engineering Manager at Edinburgh International Airport, said: “We are delighted to donate this equipment to the new Forth Valley College facility. It’s important we give as much support to our young workforce as possible and this equipment will give them an excellent foundation on their learning journey.”
