A former Forth Valley College Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing and Make-Up Artistry student has relaxed into her role at Crieff Hydro by landing a place in the final of the Scottish Hotel Awards.
Margaret Holleran (34) from Bo’ness, who now works as a spa therapist at the Crieff Hyrdo and Spa will be fighting it out for top spot in the Therapist of the Year category at the awards final on Sunday 28 April at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.
She, said: “I am over the moon! It is a big achievement, and I am honoured to have been nominated in the first place.
“I was unaware that I was put forward for this opportunity. I was mystery guested, which means they came into the Crieff Hydro Spa for a treatment with myself, and they rated me on the treatment I gave, how I treated them, and their full journey from arrival to departure.
“I am very nervous and excited at the same time about the finals later this month, but looking forward to them.”
Fiona Young, Operational Spa Manager, Crieff Hydro, said: “Margaret is a delight on the team! It is clear that her foundation at Forth Valley College in Beauty Therapy & Make-Up Artistry has served her well as she thrives in the spa environment here at Crieff Hydro. She can turn her hand to everything from make up on glam bars, to hot stone massages, all with her infectious smile.”
Lisa Evitt, Operations Manager, in FVC’s Department of Creative Industries, Hospitality and Tourism, said: “Margaret came to study Beauty Therapy in 2014 and graduated in 2018, during which time it was a pleasure to see her grow in confidence and develop excellent skills. When I heard she had been nominated for this Award, I wasn’t in the least surprised. Margaret is an outstanding therapist and I look forward to seeing her career progress.”
