Skills for Work Creative Industries students have produced work which has been exhibited in the reception area of the Stirling Campus.
Based on the theme of ‘Nature Nurture’ the exhibition of artwork was inspired by the natural world and began to brighten up the Campus on Friday 5 May from 1pm. The ‘Fantasy Fashion’ element of the show was a collection of costumes inspired by myths and legends created using recycled materials. The event was organised by two school groups working together to complete the Nat 5 in Creative Industries.
The students have completed the course by attending College from school one day a week since August 2022. Some of the pupils will be progressing on to other Creative Industries courses at Forth Valley College next year.
Creative Industries Lecturer, Ewan John, said: “The skills for Work Creative Industries course has proved a vital link between local schools and the College with a number of students from previous cohorts now enrolled on our Art & Design full time classes.
“It gives the pupils the chance to experience College and promotes an independent and creative outlook on problem solving, by exploring the creative process. The work on show is a good example of how the creative industries can be an outlet for expression.
“It is a positive, inclusive and diverse destination for pupils and can enable them to experience a wide range of disciplines, before embarking on their creative journey. This year’s students have been incredible learners and the proof is in the work featured in their end of year exhibition."
