Administration students raise thousands for good cause
Great fundraising effort

A group of six NC Administration students have raised more than £2,200 for Sepsis Research (FEAT) with a series of fundraising events.

As part of their Event Organisation section of their course Kasia Duszynska (30) from Stirling, Stevi Faccenda (32) from Bainsford, Catrine Mcguigan (44) from Maddison, Krzysztof Nowicki (41) from Bo’ness, Aaron Bumstead (19), of Camelon Falkirk and Dana Johnstone (30) from Bo’ness, decided to choose the worthy cause and raise funds, as it had a personal link to one of the group.

Dana Johnstone (30) from Bo’ness, said: “I lost my wee three-year old cousin Harper in March to Sepsis, so raising money for this worthy cause was close to my heart and why we chose this charity.

“We set out to raise a target of £500 but we are now currently sitting at £2227.24 and we still have a little more to collect in. To raise funds and awareness we have organised a few different events, from a sponsored leg wax (Aaron Bumstead) and a sponsored 50k cycle, (Dana Johnstone and Stevi Faccenda).

“We sold football cards and raised more funds through sales of donated wine and alcohol to the staff in the Business Department. In early December we hosted an event in the reception area of the Falkirk Campus where we raffled off fantastic prizes including hampers full of Chanel products, a tour of Celtic Park for four people and two games tickets as well as two game tickets to Rangers versus Hamilton, vouchers for various beauty salons and hairdressers, held a tombola and sold sweets and cones of hot chocolate.

“My work Bakkavor Salads, also donated £100 through our SEF Committee and the support from we have received from local communities has been brilliant, from helping us raise awareness to donating various vouchers and prizes. We have smashed that goal by far and are really delighted with the total and can’t thank everyone enough for donating. We are donating all the fund through a justgiving page, and all funds will go directly to Sepsis Research (FEAT) and they will receive gift aid. The page closes on Saturday 21 of December, so if anyone wants to donate they can still do so. Thanks again to everyone.”
