A group of Alternative Curriculum Education (ACE) students based at Forth Valley College’s Alloa Campus have raised a total of £180.81 for Strathcarron Hospice.

They presented a cheque for that amount to Jim Brown Community Fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice at the Alloa Campus on Tuesday 28 February.

The group of eight students used the Enterprise Activity Unit of their course to raise money for the worthy cause after organising a series of activities and stalls at the Alloa Campus reception before Christmas.

Firm favourites such as ‘guess the birthday of the teddy bear’, ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’ and a tombola raffle draw were on offer.

Lecturer Marlene Boyd, said:

“I am very proud of them, they have all done very well and raised money for some great causes.”
