Volunteers’ Week is taking place from Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2020. This is a time to celebrate and thank all the volunteers in the UK for the support they provide to communities throughout the year and this year it is particularly important to acknowledge these individuals and their unbelievable efforts during the COVID-19 epidemic.
We want to encourage people to engage with the campaign and get creative, finding ways to say thank you to all of the amazing volunteers out there. If you want to get involved then click here for some ideas of things you can do.
During the week, events and celebrations take place across the country in order to say thank you to volunteers and to recognise their amazing contributions.
While normal events are not taking place, some virtual ones are being held online to celebrate.
Volunteering can be hugely rewarding and can have numerous benefits from gaining confidence and learning new skills to meeting new people, not to mention that you will also be helping to support others.
If you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering or would like to know more about the various volunteer opportunities then Volunteer Scotland have some great information and resources.
