LGBT+ History Month takes place every year in February to celebrate the lives and achievements of the LGBT+ community, promoting equality and diversity around the world.
At Forth Valley College, we welcome students of all identities and are very proud of our diverse learning community. In support of LGBT+ History Month, we have arranged several activities that will be taking place throughout February on our dedicated LGBT+ History Month Microsoft Teams channel. Students and staff can access the channel by using the following code - 4qrlz3c.
Our LGBT+ History Month activities include:
Film Night
A film will be available to view online via Moodle, which you can watch at your own leisure. There will then be the option to participate in a chat and feedback session to discuss the film.
LGBT+ Competition
Over the month, we will be running an LGBT + History Month quiz for students to complete online, with a chance to win a prize – keep an eye on our Team's channel for more information.
Comics
A selection of LGBT+ digital comics will be available to view via our Teams channel throughout the month.
Quiz Night
We will also be hosting a quiz night – more information will be available on our Team's channel.
Interesting Facts
LGBT+ facts will be posted in our Teams channel and across social media to highlight key historical moments that have significant importance to the rights of the LGBT+ community.
As well as the above activities, our Teams channel will provide informative videos, useful resources and signposts to key external organisations.
You can also view our Transgender guide, created in consultation with the trans community members to provide information and support for staff and students who identify as trans and non-binary.
