Finding the time to stay active can be difficult. With so many things needing our attention, home schooling, housework, working from home, the list is endless, it can be tough to prioritise our wellbeing. Here are some quick and easy tips to help you stay active, even if you don’t have much time:
- Walk to shops when possible. If you live further away from a supermarket, look into your local shops, like greengrocers, for those in-between top-up shops.
- Go for a walk during lunch time. 30 min walk a day has a significant impact on our health.
- Move every hour. Is your backside going numb while working from home? Get moving then. Set up a timer and walk in between meetings and video calls, stand up and stretch. By being aware of your body throughout the day, you can keep any back pains at bay.
- Dance while you cook. Put your favourite tunes and dance away while cooking. By keeping exercise fun, you’re more likely to want to continue doing it and your brain will automatically link cooking and dancing together. Before you know it you’ll be dancing on autopilot.
- Make the most of the school run. If your children are still off to school, consider walking, cycling, or even scooting the journey.
- Switch from a stressful car trip to a time for being active as a family.
