Our ESOL courses allow you to develop your:
- Speaking skills
- Listening skills
- Reading skills
- Writing skills
You will also develop your knowledge of Grammar, Vocabulary and Use of English, in work and everyday situations.
Expectations
At this level you will be expected to be reading English books and newspapers as well as listening to English radio and TV.
Our course is designed to include at least 6 hours of study per week:
Daytime classes
- Face to face contact: You will be expected to attend at least 80% of classes, 3.5 hours per week
- Home self-directed study: You will be expected to study on your own, 2 hours per week
Assessments
You must be available for any internal assessments if you are to be entered for the external SQA Exam in May. If you miss an assessment it is your responsibility to arrange an alternative date with your lecturer.
You must be successful in your internal assessments and prelim in order to be entered for the external exam.
- Internal assessments will take place both before and after the December holidays
- A prelim exam will take place in February
