Please note that due to COVID-19, this course will be delivered on-campus with reduced student numbers and physical distancing measures in place.

Please click here to read important information regarding CompEx extensions for certification.

Candidates who have previously attended the CompEx Ex 01-04 (5 day) hazardous area training course are required to update their knowledge within 5 years according to the industry standard and to keep their Core Competency Certification.

The CompEx 01-04 two day refresher session is suitable for technical personnel  that are immersed in this subject matter on a regular basis therefore would not require the re-training element of attending the CompEx Ex01-04 (5 Day course)

Please note upon booking the Refresher course candidates will be issued joining instructions including a Study Guide that must be completed prior to attending this Competency Validation Assessment Module.

From 1 April 2019, Compex have introduced the CompEx ID card as mandatory, the cost of this is £25 and is included in our price of £525pp.

In order to register with the awarding body all candidates must bring their original in date 01-04 CompEx Certificate with them on the first morning of the course. Failure to do this will result in candidates not being able to sit the final assessment.

CompEx EX01-04 Certification is only valid for five years from issue. To re-validate your certification for another five years, you must undertake the refresher qualification within the initial five year period. Persons whose certificate(s) is no longer current i.e. outside of 5 years must complete their chosen course units again (i.e. a full Ex01-04 5 day course).

If the dates below do not meet your requirements additional dates/spaces may be available. Please call 01324 403173 or e-mail: training@forthvalley.ac.uk to enquire.
