City and Guilds 2919-01: Level 3 Award in Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation

The two day course will cost £395 per candidate.

The EV Charging Equipment Installation Course runs over two consecutive days and has a fundamental theory online multiple choice exam and a practical assessment on the second day.  
This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally carry out Electric Vehicle charging equipment installation. This course is intended for experienced electricians interested in understanding a wide range of equipment and systems available, this course applies to the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in domestic dwellings, on-street locations, commercial and industrial premises. 
We strongly advise attending candidates achieve City and Guilds 2382 (IET Wiring Regulations – BS7671: IET Wiring Regulations) is achieved prior to sitting this course, although this is NOT an entry requirement. 

On this course you will be taught how to design, specify, install, fault find, inspect and test electric vehicle charging points both for the commercial and domestic sector.  
- Introduction to Electric Vehicles - Electric Vehicle types, Characteristics, Charging requirements, Safety considerations 
- Overview of Electric Vehicle charging - Modes of charging and requirements, restrictions 
- Electrical Installation Requirements - Supply, Earthing, Planning permission, Explosive atmospheres, Protection, Labelling, Control, Risk assessment 
- Installation - Practical domestic and commercial installation 
- Inspection, Test and Certification - Commissioning and paperwork 
- System Test, Fault Finding and Examination - Includes both a practical and written assessments 

Candidates must be over 18 and be able to demonstrate the following competencies
Correctly install and terminate*: 
- pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth) 
- Steel Wire armoured cable (swa) 
- Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork. 
*Please Note: These competencies are required for the assessment and are not taught as part of the course.
