  • BA (Hons) Heritage and Tourism (University of Stirling)

    Planning a career in heritage, travel or tourism? Our Heritage and Tourism degree is the perfect place to start your professional journey.

    If you have aspirations of working in the heritage, conservation or tourism sectors, our dedicated Heritage and Tourism degree is the perfect starting point. This course is a fully integrated degree taught in partnership between Forth Valley College and the University of Stirling. You'll spend the first two years studying at the College and the final two studying at the University of Stirling campus, whilst benefitting from dual registration and the full range of our combined resources and facilities. 

    The aims of this award are to develop a knowledge of study, research and analysis, with an ability to define and solve problems. Students will develop key skills and knowledge in marketing and customer service, as applied to the travel and tourism sector. They will develop product knowledge of the home market, or international destinations. They will develop an understanding of the Heritage and Tourism industry, how it is structured and how it operates.

    Students will develop a more in-depth understanding and application of marketing and management competences, in the travel and tourism context of tour operations and selected specialist areas e.g. visitor attractions, airline and airport operations, business or retail travel, whilst considering the key issue of sustainability.

    Please note, we offer this course at Year one or Year two entry.

  • BA (Hons) Professional Education (Secondary) with Chemistry (University of Stirling)

    This course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in chemistry teaching, at secondary school level. Taught in collaboration with the University of Stirling, students will spend two years at Forth Valley College studying modules from HND Applied Sciences or HND Applied Chemical Sciences before participating in two years of initial teacher education at the University of Stirling, alongside chemistry student teachers. The course includes school placements to develop confidence and experience in a classroom environment.

    This course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in physics teaching, at secondary school level.  Taught in collaboration with the University of Stirling, students will spend two years at Forth Valley College studying modules from HND Applied Sciences before participating in two years of initial teacher education at the University of Stirling, alongside physics student teachers.   • BA Art & Design - Year One

    The BA Art and Design course is a challenging, creative and exciting three year programme that encourages students to develop their creative practice while embracing a wider understanding of the theories and context of the wider arts world.  

    With the vast majority of degree programmes now requiring you to study either Art or Design, there are no such barriers within this interdisciplinary programme. In year one you will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of specialisms. You will carry out a variety of art and design based projects, deciding on a broad specialism by Easter, supported by feedback and advice from staff. Your practical project work will support a growing critical and contextual understanding of art and design theory. 

    The programme is ideal for both school leavers, progression from Portfolio Courses and adult returners. 

    This degree is validated by the University of Stirling. 

  • BA Art & Design - Year Three

    The well-established and highly successful BA Art & Design course at Forth Valley College is a challenging, creative and exciting programme which encourages students to develop their creative practice while embracing a wider understanding of the theories and context of the wider arts world. Students will be expected to advance skills and specialisms established at HND level, before finally showcasing their work at the end-of-year exhibition.

    This degree is validated by the University of Stirling.
