Former Forth Valley College student Stephanie Taylor has a real passion for helping youngster to ‘Go’ for it.
Stephanie (34) from Falkirk, completed her NC and HNC Early Education and Childcare in June 2008. She now works as a Project Manager for ‘GO Kids’ - a charity that provides out-of-school care to children from four local schools.
“I chose Forth Valley College as it was local to me and had courses that supported the change in career path I had in mind.
“The College had everything you needed to study. I used the library often for research and to work on the computers. The lecturers were very supportive and knowledgeable in the subjects. They taught the subjects in a way that made them interesting to me.
“My college courses were the first big step on my new career path. Without these courses, I would have struggled to get a job in the childcare sector, which is where I wanted to work. The courses were also a stepping stone to allow me to continue to obtain higher qualifications in my job.
“I could not have asked any more from the College. It has given me the opportunity to change my career to something I really enjoy and I would definitely recommend the College to anyone.”
“The best bit for me was learning new things and gaining the experience of learning again, as it had been a good few years since I had last been in an educational environment.”
Summing up her Forth Valley College experience in three words Stephanie, said: “It’s life changing!”
