Former Braes High School pupil Matthew Guest (17) completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in Hardware and System Support, through Forth Valley College.
Matthew, said: “I chose to study a FA at Forth Valley College as there were no more Computing classes I could take at my high school.
“The facilities were great and the lecturers were really nice and you could ask them questions without feeling nervous.
“My experience of studying an FA at the College has benefited me as I have now managed to get a job as a first line engineer as I got recommended by people within my apprenticeship.
“This will help me move on to the next step on my career as I will use the knowledge I gained from Foundation Apprenticeship to help me progress further.
“I would recommend the FA to anyone as you get first-hand experience with the job you will be interested in, you can also build relationships with people in the real world of work. The best bit for me was getting to know everyone on my apprenticeship course and gaining knowledge from them.
“In the future I hope to still have a job within IT and to investigate cyber security as that’s the path I want to take.”
