Forth Valley College has certainly sparked the interest of electrician Kevin Nolan since he started attending as a Modern Apprentice (MA) Electrician, while working for T Clarke Building Services Group.

Kevin, said: “My job at the moment is mainly based at new housing developments. I go in and wire up the houses and when the joiners are finished, I go back in and put in the sockets, lights and electrical fittings. I am also asked to wire up new site compounds.

“Through my MA I have been doing an HNC Electrical Engineering, but had also done a couple of other courses at the College including electrical installation.

“As far as electrical engineering in concerned Forth Valley College have pretty much got it nailed. The lecturers are all industry experienced and the facilities have everything you would need.

"You really do learn some industry specific skills at the College and experience of thelecturers really prepare you for what to expect when on site. It is a bit of a change from the classroom, but you really get a rough idea of what’s happening.“When I finish my time here, my plan is to go to Australia and America and continue my trade there. The College has really opened up a lot of doors there for me. It has been great. A great learning opportunity."
