Claire Chatburn (42) from Stenhousemuir studied for an HNC Early Education and Childcare at Forth Valley College and completed the course in June 2015. She is currently working as a supply nursery teacher with Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils.
She said: “I chose to study at Forth Valley College as it was close to home and offered the course that I thought would provide me with an opportunity to change my career.
“The technical support was excellent and facilities were easy to access.. The lecturers were an inspiration and their support and knowledge provided me with the skills to not only pass the course but to go on to employment.
“Studying at the college has benefited me as I have gained a new set of skills to pursue a career in child care and a new-found confidence in my own abilities thanks to the lecturers and the support team. My additional needs were identified and a very personal approach was adopted to assist me.
“Forth Valley College has helped me move on to the next step in my career. With my new qualification and knowledge of current legislation I could secure a full-time job in a private nursery.
“I would recommend the College as the course provided realistic and current information that has been a benefit to my future. The support available to assist me with my additional needs was consistent and thorough.
“The best bit for me was making new connections with likeminded people and achieving the qualification.”
Summing up her time at FVC in three words Claire, said: “Rewarding.. life changing !”
