Cameron Murray (21) from Grangemouth works for Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services as a Technical Supervisor, but it was the MA programme and studying for a HNC Applied Science at Forth Valley College, which led him to full-time employment.
Cameron, said: “Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services are a sterile fill finish contract manufacturing organisation. My role within Symbiosis is to support manufactures from a technical standpoint, which includes the assessment of material compatibility, health and safety and generation of technical documentation for external clients.
“At first, I was a bit sceptical of the MA programme, but soon got into a good work/study balance and I was able to prioritize college and work material.
“Getting a recognised qualification assisted me in progressing my career, after completing my apprenticeship I was successful in securing a full-time position as a Technical Supervisor with the company. I had to study during COVID, so most of my work was done online, which was a challenge, however the lecturers eased the burden and helped whenever they could.
“I would recommend, Modern Apprenticeships as they allow you to get a recognised qualification and vital experience in your selected sector which will help progress in your career. The best advice I can give anyone is apply for a modern apprenticeship, as it is a great way to learn as you earn.
“The best bit for me was completing my Apprenticeship, getting my qualifications and securing the job at Symbiosis.
