A high school visit to Forth Valley College convinced Angus Collins to apply for an HND Sound Production course.
Angus (21) from Kippen completed his qualification in June 2016. He now hopes that his newfound skills will lead to a career in studio work and perhaps even animation and film.
He, said: “A group from high school called CYP organised visits to the College. I liked what I saw and when I found out that the College does courses for sound design, that’s when I realised wanted to apply. I make animation films as a hobby, so I wanted to know more about how to make, edit, mix and record sounds for my animation projects.
“The lecturers are really friendly and helpful and the facilities are great. I learned a lot from using the studios and the mac labs. I’m now better at using Pro Tools and Logic Pro X software and this has helped me for editing, recording, mixing and making music at home. I hope I will able to find employment soon that involves studio work.
“I would say to potential new students that the College gives you help when you need it, and help for people like me with disabilities, is really good. The College is more open to more people and the lecturers are helpful. You also meet people who have the same interests as you, so it’s a great place to be."
