BP Instrument technician Aaron Westenhaver, has been impressed with Forth Valley College’s CompEx Training Centre and its lecturing staff.

Aaron (39) from Washington State, USA, completed the five-day 01-04 CompEx Hazardous Area Inspection and Installation course on Friday 1 September 2017.

Aaron, who is based on an oil and gas installation off the coast of Angola, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

“I think that this CompEx Centre in a college environment, is set up much better to offer the course. The lecturers all know their subject areas very well and have a great wealth of knowledge on the subject matter, which they communicate effectively. The quality of the training equipment and workrooms were great and I was really prepared for the exams at the end of the week.

“I would definitely recommend the course and the training centre here at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus. I am sure doing this course will benefit me in my role as an instrument technician.”

Alistair McKean, FVC CompEx lecturer, said: “The CompEx 01-04 Hazardous area inspection and installation course is a very challenging one for anyone working in this industry, and it was great to welcome Aaron to our training centre. He has been a great student.”
