Time4Me

Time4Me Mentoring Programme

Time4Me is a mentoring project partially funded by The Robertson Trust and run through Forth Valley College.

The programme is for young people who are transitioning to Forth Valley College for the first time, recognising that their personal circumstances can present challenges to the success of that transition. The initiative is available to students who are:

  • Care Experienced
  • Young Carers/Young Adult Carers
  • Reside in regeneration areas (SIMD20)

Mentoring aims to improve educational outcomes - and experiences - focusing on personal development skills such as communication, resilience, confidence, self-belief and problem-solving.

Referrals for the Time4Me project are currently open for for Falkirk and Stirling, but are now closed for Alloa. You can find out more about the programme, and how to make a referral below.

How to make a referral

If you know a young person coming to Forth Valley College to start their course in session 2022/23, and you think they would benefit from participating in the Time4Me mentoring programme, please complete our Mentee Referral Form here.

Alternatively, for more information, please contact Sarah Tervit (Mentor Coordinator) at time4me@forthvalley.ac.uk or call 01324 403000 ext 7128. Sarah will be able to discuss the eligibility and suitability of the referral candidate and provide further details on the programme.

You can also find out more about the Time4Me project by viewing our brochure here.

Please note: preliminary discussions can happen before the offer of a place is received; however, we won't formally progress the referral until their place is confirmed.

"The mentoring has been really helpful, as I have someone to talk to and help me process any problems I may be facing. My Mentor Moira has been amazing, we get along really well and I respect her opinion. I would tell anyone thinking about joining Time4Me to do it, it’s only one hour a week and it’s been so worth it."
