Can your P5-P7 pupils help to save the planet?
Forth Valley College is delighted to run a unique STEM initiative open to Primary 5-7 pupils from schools across the region.
As part of this programme, pupils will work with, Suzi the Scientist, Tim the Technologist, Eric the Engineer and Mandy the Mathematician, through a range of experiments and team activities to help the famous four save the planet.
Topics covered include green energy, coding, life sciences, rocket building and engineering challenges.
The programme is a total of up to 40 hours of STEM learning using a combination of online learning and practical activities. This also includes a one day STEM workshop delivered in your school by Forth Valley College staff and students. Please note this workshop can be booked at any stage of the programme.

The race is on to save the world and teachers are advised to register their school as soon as possible. A member of the STEM team will then be touch to discuss the programme in more detail.
Key information
- Open to P5-7 pupils from schools across the Forth Valley region
- Teachers and pupils will have access to the college's Moodle platform and online resources
- On-going support will be provided throughout the programme
- Pupils will receive a College certificate on completion
- Schools will be required to sign up to a Service Level Agreement and undertake an appropriate risk assessment
- Schools will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
- Schools will be required to provide a small number of commonly available materials to conduct the practical experiments detailed within the online learning materials
STEM Workshop - One day filled with wow experiments
- Sessions resuming from the 26th of September 2022
- Mondays - Thursdays from 9:30am - 3pm
- Pupils will be expected to complete some activities in preparation for the workshop
- One class group per session
- Larger schools can book more than one session to accommodate pupil numbers
- Room facilities will be required - access to laptop, projector/smart board/WiFi, several sockets, paper wipes, tables, computers and access to a sink
