Ways to Study
Forth Valley College offers courses in a wide range of study modes to help you find the course to suit your lifestyle and circumstances. Below are explanations to each of our different modes of study.

Full Time
Full time study of an National Qualification (NQ ) Course and other non advanced courses requires you to attend college for a year approximately 20 hours per week.
Full-time study of Higher National Certificate and Diploma (HNC/D) courses requires you to attend approximately 15 hours per week. HNC courses run for one year or as the first year of an HND. Full-time HND courses run for two years.
Part-time
We offer a variety of leisure based and certificated courses that are delivered on a part-time day basis. These courses are uniquely designed to accommodate busy lifestyles whether you have work or family commitments. Some courses are even delivered via family-friendly hours to fit around school times.
Evening Classes
Our evening classes range from HND programmes through to leisure based courses that are ideal if you want to learn a new hobby or take up a new interest.
Flexible and Online Learning
Flexible and online learning is all about studying at your own pace and at a time and location which suits your needs.
We have a range of courses which can be studied at home or work or in any of our 10 Learning Centres and they can be an ideal first step back into learning.
