NC Plumbing and Heating - Modern Apprenticeship

Why FVC:

The college was the closest place offering this Modern Apprenticeship qualification. I feel that I am also following in my dad's footsteps as he attended what was then Falkirk College to study plumbing and I am an apprentice with his company.

Favourite Moment:

As the only girl in the class I was so proud to win an award for getting the top mark. My dad is very proud of me and has put the award up in his office at work.

Chosen Career:

I want to be a plumbing and heating engineer and work with my dad in the family firm Neat Heat.

Expected:

I knew FVC had a great reputation for offering these qualifications and was always looking forward to coming here.

Unexpected:

I honestly did not think I would be accepted by all the lads in my class so quickly. They are all great and I really do feel like one of the boys.

AOQ:

College is nothing like school at all and the lecturers are very helpful and supportive and treat you like and adult. At the beginning I thought it all seemed complicated but now that i've completed my first year I have realised that if you're interested and committed, everything on the course just falls into place.
